Isn't It Weird
Today's headlines on Guardian Unlimited read:
"New reactors to be fast tracked" :referring to the pressing need for the UK to develop alternative energy sources i.e. building more nuclear reactors.
And...
"Iran moves assets out of Europe" :referring to the country's response to potential economic sanctions as the conflict over its nuclear energy program is referred to the UN Security Council next month.
If that's not an obvious display of the double standards Western politicians have, I don't know what is.

i think the reason why britain is allowed not have such nuclear reactors is because they are not seen internationally as threats to international security. And UK declares her intention from the start - everything is out in the open.
Was reading the news today, and I came across an article about Iran. It says that Iran is a ctry that says dangerous things like wanting to get Israel "wiped off the map", and its nuclear research was not brought to light for 18 years, right up till 2002. And it has also repeatedly refused to admit, or deny the existence of nuclear weapons in the country.
I think politicians, like all of us, have a bigger tendancy to trust apparent allies than wellknown (and in this case, a little sneaky in operations) enemies. Of course it might be wrong judgements, and is obviously biased, but if grounded on valid reasons, should not be penalised.
